Meet the Vendors: Fash Flood

Today we’re excited to feature another amazing vendor, Sarah Lorsung Tvrdik, owner of Fash Flood!

Sarah Lorsung Tvrdik is a stylist, writer and vintage style expert based in Omaha, Nebraska. In 2009, she founded Fash Flood, a style website featuring her styling projects and hair and beauty tutorials. Sarah is the Style Editor and pens a weekly column for Omaha’s The Reader newspaper and serves as the Midwest Correspondent for Canadian style website, Ma-Luxe. Sarah and her work have been featured in The Omaha World Herald, Omaha Magazine, Wedding Essentials Magazine, Omaha.com and numerous style blogs. She also works as a stylist, independently contracting with fashion designers, photographers, musicians, filmmakers, marketing firms and other various businesses, styling and creating style guides for their employees.  

What inspired you to work in the wedding industry?

Time periods gone by are my greatest source of inspiration, so I love working with couples to help bring a little bit of vintage styling into their big day. I offer wardrobe consultation and personal shopping, vintage accessory rentals (Looking for vintage headpieces for all your bridesmaids? I’m your gal), photo styling services and makeup application.  

What are your favorite and least favorite wedding trends?

Favorite: Anything really quirky that’s really specific to the couple. Least Favorite: Lay off the mason jars! They’re cute, we get it –but overdone to death.  

What makes your business unique?

I work not only as a consultant, but offer hands on styling services for anything from your engagement photo session or on your big day. If you’re looking for something specific and vintage-inspired, I can help. I generally pull from my 1960’s style playbook – beehives, red lips, matchy-matchy jewelry, over the top dresses that require crinoline skirts with an equally eye-catching look for your handsome beau.  

What inspires you?

I’m inspired by the opulent lifestyles of the 1950’s and ‘60s. A time and a place when you wore your best dress to take a plane ride, a circle skirt and pearls as you made dinner and jeans only around the house and in the garden.  

What is your favorite love story?

“Stranded at the drive-in, branded a fool. What will they say?…Monday at school.” Hands down, Sandy and Danny from Grease. I know every moment of their musical love story by heart.  

What is your best advice for a newly engaged couple?

Plan some alone time a few hours before you walk down the aisle. A few minutes where you can see each other for the first time that day, you’ll remember those moments the most.  

What are you looking forward to most about The Lovestruck Event?

The dancing! I’m going to make you all dance with me –fair warning.
